As recreational cannabis online in Canada becomes legal in New York state, consumers are wondering how to order weed delivery. While the answer will vary depending on where you live in the city, most people can find out if cannabis deliveries are available at their address by navigating to the dispensary’s website and searching for “delivery.”
Once on the store’s website, customers can select products within legal purchase limits and add them to their virtual shopping cart. After double-checking their selections and ensuring that they are logged in to the correct account, customers can follow a standard checkout process. The order is verified for age and address, and payment is required before the product can be delivered. Unlike services like Uber Eats and DoorDash, cannabis deliveries will be conducted by the retail dispensary’s own CannSell-certified staff instead of independent third-party delivery companies.

After the order is processed, a text message will be sent with a estimated time window for your delivery to arrive. When the driver arrives at your home or hotel room, the individual that placed the order will be expected to show a government-issued ID and pay for the product in cash. Many dispensaries also accept credit and debit cards, but this is not yet the case for all retailers. Upon receiving the products, the customer will then be expected to smoke or consume them according to their preference. The same tax rates apply for in-person purchases and weed delivery, but some retailers charge additional fees for delivery service.
